Background

Pesticides, in particular folpet, have been found in rural and urban air in France in the past few years. Folpet is a contact fungicide and has been widely used for the past 50 years in vineyards in France. Slightly water-soluble and mostly present as particles in the environment, it has been measured at average concentration of 40.1 μg/m3 during its spraying, 0.16–1.2 μg/m3 in rural air and around 0.01 μg/m3 in urban air, potentially exposing both the workers and the general population. However, no study on its penetration by inhalation and on its respiratory toxicity has been published. The objective of this study was to determine the physicochemical characteristics of folpet particles (morphology, granulometry, stability) in its commercial forms under their typical application conditions. Moreover, the cytotoxic effect of these particles and the generation of reactive oxygen species were assessed in vitro on respiratory cells.

Results

Granulometry of two commercial forms of folpet (Folpan 80WG® and Myco 500®) under their typical application conditions showed that the majority of the particles (>75%) had a size under 5 μm, and therefore could be inhaled by humans. These particles were relatively stable over time: more than 75% of folpet remained in the particle suspension after 30 days under the typical application conditions. The inhibitory concentration (IC50) on human bronchial epithelial cells (16HBE14o-) was found to be between 2.89 and 5.11 μg/cm2 for folpet commercial products after 24 h of exposure. Folpet degradation products and vehicles of Folpan 80 WG® did not show any cytotoxicity at tested concentrations. At non-cytotoxic and subtoxic concentrations, Folpan 80 WG® was found to increase DCFH-DA fluorescence.

Conclusion

These results show that the particles of commercial forms of folpet are relatively stable over time. Particles could be easily inhaled by humans, could reach the conducting airways and are cytotoxic to respiratory cells in vitro. Folpet particles may mediate its toxicity directly or indirectly through ROS-mediated alterations. These data constitute the first step towards the risk assessment of folpet particles by inhalation for human health. This work confirms the need for further studies on the effect of environmental pesticides on the respiratory system.  相似文献

This paper deals with the design of a nonlinear observer for sensorless induction motor control. Based upon the circle criterion approach, a nonlinear observer is designed to estimate pertinent but unmeasurable state variables of the considered induction machine for sensorless control purpose. The observer gain matrices are computed as a solution of linear matrix inequalities(LMI) that ensure the stability conditions of the state observer error dynamics in the sense of Lyapunov concepts. Measured and estimated state variables can be exploited to perform a state feedback control of the machine system. The simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach for nonlinear observer design.  相似文献

As cloud computing models have evolved from clusters to large-scale data centers, reducing the energy consumption, which is a large part of the overall operating expense of data centers, has received much attention lately. From a cluster-level viewpoint, the most popular method for an energy efficient cloud is Dynamic Right Sizing (DRS), which turns off idle servers that do not have any virtual resources running. To maximize the energy efficiency with DRS, one of the primary adaptive resource management strategies is a Virtual Machine (VM) migration which consolidates VM instances into as few servers as possible. In this paper, we propose a Two Phase based Adaptive Resource Management (TP-ARM) scheme that migrates VM instances from under-utilized servers that are supposed to be turned off to sustainable ones based on their monitored resource utilizations in real time. In addition, we designed a Self-Adjusting Workload Prediction (SAWP) method to improve the forecasting accuracy of resource utilization even under irregular demand patterns. From the experimental results using real cloud servers, we show that our proposed schemes provide the superior performance of energy consumption, resource utilization and job completion time over existing resource allocation schemes.  相似文献

Abstract

Objective: The aim of the study was to formulate, cyclodextrin (CD)-polyanhydride (PA) nanoparticles (CPNs) with rosuvastatin calcium (RCa) in order to enhance the poor oral bioavailability.

Methods: CPNs containing RCa/CD complexes were prepared by a modified solvent displacement method and morphological analyses, particle size (PS), polydispersity index (PDI), zeta potential (ZP), encapsulation efficiency (EE), DSC, FT-IR, XRD, 1H-NMR analyses were performed. In vitro release properties, release kinetics, cytotoxicity, in vitro permeability and pharmacokinetic studies were also studied. The stability of the formulations were evaluated during the storage period of 3?months.

Results: The physicochemical studies showed that the RCa/CD complexes were well incorporated into CPNs resulted in nanosized particles (215.22 and 189.13?nm) with homogenous size distribution (PDI: 0.203 and 0.182) with relatively high incorporation capacity (76.11 and 68.18%) for the CPN1 and CPN2 formulations respectively. Sustained release of RCa from CPNs were achieved. The cytotoxicity values showed that the safety of the formulations. According to permeability studies, pure RCa had lowest permeability data (3.08?×?10?7?cm?s?1 Papp value) while CPNs gained higher permeability data (1.36?×?10?5 and 1.12?×?10?5?cm?s?1 Papp values) for the CPN1 and CPN2 formulations respectively. CPN2 formulation was selected for pharmacokinetic studies and analyses results demonstrated that approximately 8-fold relative oral bioavailability enhancement compared to the pure RCa was achieved.

Conclusion: Considering the analyses results of the study, CPNs can be regarded as suitable, safe, functional oral delivery systems for RCa with enhanced oral bioavailability.  相似文献

In this work, a new class of triazole molecules, containing heteroatoms such as nitrogen and sulphur, is prepared. The effect of these molecules on the corrosion behaviour of iron was investigated. Electrochemical studies were performed in aerated chloride acid solution (1 M) by potentiodynamic polarisation curves. Surfaces were characterised by scanning electron microscopy.

The recorded electrochemical data showed that the corrosion resistance was greatly enhanced in the presence of inhibitor. The maximal protection efficiency exceeded 94%. The corrosion protection could be explained by the adsorption of inhibitor through the S- or N-atom and formation of a protective layer attached to the metal surface.  相似文献

There are various factors that influence yarn strength. Yarn breaking is due to fiber breakages and fiber’s slippages. In reality, a part of the fibers slip while the other part breaks. In this study, we have shown that fatigue yarn, resulting in a fundamental way impact on the number of breaks on the weaving machine, and sometimes on the physical properties of fabrics. Given the importance of the issue and the very limited directed research number in this direction, a tests series were carried out with the aim to highlight the changes to the physical characteristics of the yarn resulting from mechanical treatment comparable to that which they are subjected on the weaving machine. In the first part of our investigation, the residual deformation, tensile strength, and elongation at break of combed and carded threads were measured. In the second part, the influence of the extensions number, their amplitudes, and frequencies were analyzed. In order to examine the influence of these parameters, carded and combed yarns, with different characteristics were prepared. Therefore, based on the separate treatment results of three test series, it appears that: the warp yarns subjected to repeated extensions undergo the phenomenon of fatigue. Yarns fatigue reduces their elasticity and resistance and it is the cause for break yarn during weaving. The fatigue of wool yarns is very low compared to other textile materials.  相似文献

The optimum conditions for extraction of total phenolic contents (TPC) and for enhancing the antioxidant activity from light and dark dried figs were determined. The effects of the solvent nature (acetone, ethanol, methanol, or water), solvent concentration (20–80%), acetic acid concentration (0–2%), extraction temperature (25–70°C), extraction time (0.5–4 h), sample to solvent ratio (1/25–1/100), and number of extractions (1, 2, and 3) were determined. The TPC was used to identify antioxidant compounds. 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) was used to evaluate antioxidant activity. All extraction parameters had significant effects (p<0.05) on the TPC and the antioxidant activities. The best conditions were obtained with double extraction using 60% acetone without acidification, at 40°C for 120 min, and with a 1/75 solid to solvent ratio. These conditions resulted in TPC concentrations of 469.46 (light variety) and 399.79 mg of gallic acid (GAE)/100 g (dark variety), and antioxidant activities of 96.47 and 102.28 mg of GAE/100 g, respectively.  相似文献

Randomised pulse width modulation (RPWM) technique has become a viable alternative to deterministic pulse width modulation (DPWM). By spreading the power spectrum in a continuous noise, this new technique better complies with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for conducted electromagnetic interferences (EMI) and allows reducing the emitted acoustic noise in variable speed drives (VSDs). The most popular RPWM schemes are randomised pulse position modulation (RPPM) and randomised carrier frequency modulation (RCFM). The combination (RCFM-RPPM) or dual RPWM (DRPWM) has also been proposed. In this article, we propose an optimised DRPWM (ODRPWM) for the three-phase inverter. First, the modulating principle is proposed, and then, a mathematical model of power spectral density (PSD) of the output voltage is developed and validated for the three schemes, namely RPPM, RCFM and RCFM-RPPM. PSD analysis shows that the proposed scheme is more effective on spreading PSD. Moreover, this analysis reveals optimal parameters of randomisation for a maximum spread of the PSD. The optimisation problem is then modelled and solved using two powerful non-linear methods.  相似文献

The Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) protocol stack has been recently defined to enable vehicular communication on the Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) frequencies. Some recent studies have demonstrated that the WAVE technology might not provide sufficient spectrum for reliable exchange of safety information over congested urban scenarios. In this paper, we address this issue, and present a novel cognitive network architecture in order to dynamically extend the Control Channel (CCH) used by vehicles to transmit safety-related information. To this aim, we propose a cooperative spectrum sensing scheme, through which vehicles can detect available spectrum resources on the 5.8 GHz ISM band along their path, and forward the data to a fixed infrastructure known as Road Side Units (RSUs). We design a novel Fuzzy-Logic based spectrum allocation algorithm, through which the RSUs infer the actual CCH contention conditions, and dynamically extend the CCH bandwidth in network congestion scenarios, by using the vacant frequencies detected by the sensing module. The simulation results reveal the effectiveness of our architecture in providing dynamic and scalable allocation of spectrum resources, and in increasing the performance of safety-related applications.  相似文献
